I'd like to say how much I enjoyed your website when I visited it for the first time today. Since I left Uganda six months ago, after working there for a year-and-a-half as a VSO volunteer, I have tried to follow African events on the Internet. Generally the sites that exist there make pretty gloomy reading. So I applaud your new venture and look forward to further regular visits.

Congratulations

I have just visited your website for the first time and I am impressed. I see a lot of potential in your vision.

It is good to project and reflect the positive aspects of our continent to the world. I agree Africa is more than just AIDS, poverty, wars, indebtedness, etc. Please keep up the good work. I am definitely going to be a regular visitor.

I've been studying about Africa lately and have two questions:
Not taking into consideration the islands surrounding Africa, what is the smallest country on the main continent of Africa based on landmass?

Am I correct with Gambia?
Also, someone had mentioned a country within a country. Is this true?
I would appreciate a reply. Thanks and P.S: Great web-site.

Having taken a moment to checkout this site, I must say that I am immensely
impressed by the attempt to highlight the positive about Africa, however
feeble the attempt might be. I trust that Africans (and other races) shall
take this opportunity to point out the things they have loved about Africa,
and for once, this shall now be compiled in this one-stop-information
center about Africa.

I wish you all the best and shall endeavour to keep this site updated with any information that I shall consider worthwhile. Thumbs up for the "great leap forward".

A toast to Africa, especially all progressive Africans (including those in
diaspora).

Africa is a huge continent. How many countries are there? What is the total
population of Africa? Where is Africa University?

Congratulations on what promises to be a great website. I would like
to submit my nomination for the Top 20 best schools. I have sent it as a Word 97 Attachment.

I am very impressed indeed with your approach although we need to be more patriotic just like any American would have done by down playing other countries while up playing their own country just like CNN or VOA or BBC.

We need to see more dams in Uganda and future development proposals.

Where may I find information on current job listings, elementary schools, housing, economy, and relocation costs about Africa?

As this has been my first real chance to look at your web site, may I say how
impressed I am and I will endeavour to pass on the web site address to the usual
suspects. All the best Timothy Kalyegira and the everyone at the Africa Almanac.

To be honest, this is the coolest site I've visited this year-and they say nothing good seems to come out of Uganda -this is right up there in the 'MLW' (Major League Websites).
